Vamos a tratar del libro que es los siete locos de Arlt, un escritor argentino.Primero, la impresion del libro es que podemos ver su diferencia comparado con los libros de Allende, Coelho y Esquivel.En efecto, si vemos la tapa podemos ver que es una tapa negra que nos anuncia la espiritu del libro o el ambiente sombro del libro.Segundo los temas no son como los temas de la literatura latina.En efecto el género puede estar calificado como un género sociologico o psicologico con un titulo como los siete locos.Por fin el estilo, el tono y el ambiente son muy diferentes, como pesimisto, anti-romantico, provocante con una lengua dura dificil a comprender.Pero este libro puede apartenecer a una literatura alta o baja, o podemos calificarla como una mala litratura que no corresponde a un género literario latino.

You mention how this book has several different layers, if you will – for example the plot, the sociological layer and the philosophical layer. The plot is normally considered to be the layer that distinguishes literature from non-literature in that it is an essential component of fiction. We mentioned, or rather Jon mentioned (I should cite correctly, eh?), in class on Monday how to him this book appears to be anti-literary. I think that it gives us this sense because its non-literary (read non-plot) layers like its philosophical aspect and its social commentary aspect are so overpowering and prominant in this book. I got the sense that for every sentence Arlt devotes to plot development, he devotes five or ten to philosophical/social ramblings that tend to get confusing and eventually kind of dreary since the reader is expecting a literary work. So I believe that if I agree with the evaluation that this is bad literature, it would be on the grounds that Arlt neglects to put any effort into the literary aspect of his book. This comes back to another of Jon’s points about how this evaluation of bad literature also reflects on my expectation as a reader, i.e. that if I wasn’t reading this novel expecting a novel, then I probably wouldn’t think it so bad.

creo que explicas muy bien los temas psicologicos y la atmososfera que son dados en cosas tan sencillas como el color de la tapa y del titulo. el color negro por ejemplo es algo que yo no note por su presentacion del libro hasta que tu lo mencionaste, entonces es esto que me gusta de leer las blogs: siempre encuentro nuevas ideas que no me ocurrieron sino por haber leido sus pensamientos.

en cuanto al valor literal de Los siete Locos, la impresion que me dio este libro es que represente la voz de todos los argentinos de esta epoca que se sientan perdidos sin poder liberarse de las cadenas de la sociedad que les oprime. en relacion con esto, creo que hay que preguntarnos otra vez sobre el papel de la literatura y el papel del escritor en la sociedad. Es esta una obra politica y social, mas que una obra artistica o estetica? Es el primero exactamente el papel que Arlt quiere ascribir a su “literatura”;en vez de preocuparse por la critica de los que estan bebiendo martinis sin ninguna preocupacion, se preocupa por la gente con que se puede relacionar? Quizas. No se.
